How to reuse
Care, cleaning & longevity for infusers
Loose-leaf infusers, tea bottles and cold-brew jugs get overlooked in the wash — and it always shows in the next brew.
Everyday care
- Empty leaves as soon as the infusion finishes; wet leaves against stainless leave a chalky tannin ring within hours.
- Rinse the mesh under hot running water; tap out gently, do not scrape.
- Air-dry mesh baskets open — trapped moisture accelerates tannin build-up.
Deep clean
- Weekly: soak the mesh in warm water + a splash of white vinegar for 15 minutes to strip tannin.
- Bicarb paste and a soft toothbrush for the seam between mesh and lid — where residue always hides.
- For glass infuser bottles: bottle-brush the base curve; a lemon-and-salt slush restores clarity.
Longevity tips
- Rotate two infusers if you brew multiple times a day so each dries fully between uses.
- Do not put fine-mesh baskets in the cutlery drawer of the dishwasher — spray arms crush them.
- Replace silicone gaskets on infuser bottles annually to keep the drink-through seal reliable.
