Boilerplate
The Reusable Edit is an independent editorial site covering reusable products — cups and bottles, food storage, bags, razors, menstrual cups and household swaps. Founded in 2021, it buys the products it reviews, scores them 0–100 across seal integrity, heat retention, cleanability, materials safety, repairability and cost per year, and publishes its test protocols and raw data openly. It takes no sponsored placements; affiliate commission on outbound links is its only revenue and never affects a score.
How we test
Products are bought at retail, used in normal conditions, then run through published protocols in our Bench Lab: six-hour heat retention, seal integrity, lid teardown, dishwasher cycling, carry load and derived cost per year. Every protocol states its method, equipment, tolerance and sample size. Where a product has not been through a protocol yet, we publish the empty slot as pending rather than estimate a number.
Raw measurements, the scored catalogue, the claim corpus and the multilingual answer library are all downloadable from our open data page under CC BY 4.0.
Independence
No brand pays for coverage, placement or a score. We accept no sponsored posts and no paid reviews. Outbound links to retailers may carry affiliate commission; that commission is our only revenue and it is identical regardless of which product we recommend, so it cannot move a ranking. Scoring is done before any commercial link is attached.
Quotable statistics
Live, computed figures — catalogue size, average price, cost per year, certification coverage, recyclability by category — are published on The Reusables Index 2026. Each figure has its own anchor so you can cite a single number.
Using our material
