Alternatives to a Chilly's bottle

Last reviewed 1970-01-01

What is a good alternative to a Chilly's bottle?

The Fressko Move 660ml is what we recommend instead: the same insulated stainless idea with a mouth wide enough to take ice and a bottle brush, which is the single thing that decides whether a bottle stays pleasant to drink from after a year. The Move 500ml is the smaller, gym-sized version.

EvidenceTop overall score in our drinkware database at 91/100; wide-mouth opening measured against a standard bottle brush and ice cube, where narrow-neck bottles fail both.

What actually decides it

Mouth width
A brush must reach the base, or residue stays.
Ice
Narrow necks will not take a standard cube.
Coating
Painted exteriors chip; bare or powder-coated steel wears better.
Gasket
Removable and replaceable, or the bottle ages badly.

How we decided

Every product carries one 0–100 overall score built from the same six sub-scores: seal integrity, thermal performance, cleanability, materials safety, repairability and cost per year of ownership. Category-specific weightings are published on each product page.

The Reusable Edit is independent and takes no payment for coverage. Outbound retail links are affiliate-tracked; commissions never change a score or a ranking.

Related questions

Why does a narrow-neck bottle go sour?
Because a brush cannot reach the base and the neck never dries. Residue plus moisture is what people are smelling, not the steel.
Can you put a stainless bottle in the dishwasher?
Rinse and brush by hand is safest for painted exteriors, and wash the lid gasket separately. The vacuum seal itself is unaffected by normal washing.
